We’re excited to announce that the Cherry Garden Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) has been awarded a community grant to fund their new project celebrating the rich history of Bermondsey.
This project builds on the success of their previous work, including the Salter Centenary project, which connected the community through heritage training and local performances.
What’s the Project About?
The project will focus on the rich history of the Peek Freans biscuit factory, an important part of Bermondsey’s industrial past. Key activities include:
Building Connections
The project will also create opportunities for local people, including opportunities for employment.
We are proud to support this community initiative with a grant of £8,000. The project will help locals connect with the area’s rich history, develop new skills, and foster stronger connections within the Bermondsey community.
We will have future opportunities for grant funding, and we encourage you to stay connected for upcoming rounds.
