Construction Works Update, March 2025

Blog

Posted 2 years ago

Dear Resident,

We continue to make great progress on-site at Bermondsey. We are working hard to minimise disruption to our neighbours and appreciate your patience as we continue work to deliver the new homes, shops, and public spaces for Bermondsey.

We are also delighted to announce we will be supporting Cherry Gardens TRA in their creation of a musical play and their ongoing heritage work into Bermondsey’s rich history.

CONSTRUCTION QUERIES

Ana is our dedicated community liaison officer who some of you will have met at residents’ meetings. Should you have any construction related questions, concerns or issues you’d like to discuss please talk to her at the resident meeting or reach out using the contact details below:

Email: ana.santos@munnellys.com     Telephone: 07907 725 882

You are also invited to join us in person for our next residents’ construction update meeting at 9:30am on Thursday 27th March 2025. Please contact us using the details above to confirm attendance.

We continue to actively monitor construction vehicle movements to ensure the safety of all road users, including all measures we previously put in place to minimise the transfer of dust and mud to the surrounding roads. Daily noise and vibration readings continue to be taken and monitored to ensure environmental control limits are adhered to.

CONSTRUCTION WORKING HOURS

We are committed to being a considerate neighbour and will be working hard to ensure that any disruption caused by our construction work is kept to a minimum. Our usual construction working hours are as follows:

8am to 6pm, Weekdays

9am to 2pm, Saturdays

We will continue to endeavour to provide advanced notice of any upcoming out of hours works if required in the future.

UPCOMING WORKS

The slipform will be removed from tall 21 storey RC Concrete core over this coming weekend with EHO approval to avoid unnecessary H&S risks.

In order to continue progress on site and install vital infrastructure to service the future homes, there are some upcoming activities that may impact local traffic.

  • Drummond Road District Heat Network Connections; These were carefully planned to ensure there was no down time impacting educational teaching at the school due to no heat, this was achieved. There was a slight unknown encountered in the ground which will extend the civils works by a few days (extent tbc)
  • Webster Road, crossing Clements Road from our site will have UK Power Networks commence installation of HV ducts to bring power to Buildings 1-4 &5 from 01 – 02/03/25, this is at short notice after an opportunity arose to start earlier and does not require a road closure.
  • We plan to commence a phased road closure from 03/03/25 on Clements Road working West to East until 06/05/25.

We will have continued coordinating with Thames Water to ensure collaborative working to minimise local highways disruption.

We have now completed UK Power Solutions bringing power to our site from Verney Road and now only have works local to our site to complete.
