Dear Resident,

January was another busy month for the Bermondsey Project. We are delighted that construction of the new school for Charter School Bermondsey has now completed, with school children and teachers enjoying the new premises.

Demolition of the remaining old school buildings is now underway, with demolition of the Clements Road and Collett Road buildings to be completed imminently. We will then be moving onto the Webster Road and Drummond Road buildings, with all demolition due to be completed by mid-April. Noise and vibration readings are taken daily on site, and are being monitored alongside environmental control limits to minimise disruption to our neighbours.

Infrastructure works are also progressing well, notably around the old packing factory. Extensive surveys have been undertaken within the packing factory building in preparation for partial demolition works to begin next month, with scaffolding scheduled to be erected in the next few weeks. Demolition of the boundary wall along the railway viaduct and on the corner of Clements Road has now also commenced, which will be replaced by new secure hoarding.

We are also monitoring works being undertaken by others in the area to ensure combined impacts on our neighbours are minimised, including the Thames Water works on Webster Road and Workspace’s extension next to the Drummond Road car park.

We are committed to being a considerate neighbour and will be working hard to ensure that any disruption caused by our construction work is kept to a minimum. Our construction working hours are as follows:

CONSTRUCTION WORKING HOURS

8am to 6pm, Weekdays

9am to 2pm, Saturdays
