Construction Works Update, November 2023

Dear Resident,

It has been another productive month for the Bermondsey Project. The zebra crossing on Drummond Road has been completed and is in use, and infrastructure works are progressing well, notably around the old biscuit packing factory.

Last month we shared that the new School building was expected to open after half term. Unfortunately there have been some delays in making the finishing touches to the building, and we are supporting the Department for Education to ensure that it is completed as quickly as possible. In the meantime we are in close contact with the school to minimise disruption to their staff and students as we begin works on our site next door.

We are keen to ensure that disruption to students learning is minimised and therefore we have agreed to extend the School’s lease on their current buildings until the end of term. This will allow the School to relocate into the new building from mid-December, ready for students to move in following the Christmas holidays.

Looking ahead, we will be continuing demolition works on the vacant, old College buildings on Clements Road and Collett Road throughout the remainder of the year. We will also start surveys within the old biscuit packing factory in preparation for more extensive works starting in the new year.

We are committed to being a considerate neighbour and will be working hard to ensure that any disruption caused by our construction work is kept to a minimum. Our construction working hours are as follows:

CONSTRUCTION WORKING HOURS

8am to 6pm, Weekdays

9am to 2pm, Saturdays
