As well as preparing to start early groundwork for construction, Greystar has been working hard to finalise designs for the Bermondsey Project. We have spent the past few months making some minor revisions to the existing consent. These changes are necessary preparations to start work on the ground as soon as possible.

Join us at our public exhibitions where you can find out more about the proposed changes to the scheme and provide feedback before we submit an application to Southwark Council. The events will take place on:

Since purchasing the former Peek Freans Biscuit Factory site in October 2022, Greystar has been closely reviewing the previously approved plans and identifying aspects that could be improved for the benefit of the whole community.

We plan on starting work on the ground in Summer of 2023, and can’t wait to see the vision for Bermondsey come to life! Greystar are proposing the following minor amendments:

• Increasing the amount of socially rented units
• Adding around 76 new homes.
• Providing additional public realm and active ground floor spaces
• Improvement to the building and unit layouts
• An enhanced fire strategy
• Introducing more trees and play spaces

Despite the minor changes, we will continue to deliver on the promises previously agreed on:

• Over 1,500 much-needed new homes for rent, of which 35% will be affordable
• 150,000 sqf of flexible employment space
• 65,000 sqf of retail space
• New public spaces
• Improvement to connections throughout the area
